How to Measure Your Helmet Size Correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible measuring tape.
It is important that the measuring tape runs at the widest point of the head – only then will you get an accurate result.
Place the measuring tape about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows at the front and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the measuring tape should run over the largest point at the back of the head (not too deep in the neck). The tape may run slightly diagonally – what matters is that it fits snugly around the largest circumference points of the head.
Make sure the measuring tape is snug but not cutting in. It’s best to measure 2–3 times to get the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimeters (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an Accurate Result
- Lay hair flat (e.g., do not measure with a voluminous hairstyle)
- Run the measuring tape horizontally or along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model/fit)
Important for Fit
The right helmet should fit snugly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a bit tighter at first, as the inner padding will adjust slightly over time.

The design: Spectre with colour shift
Spectre is an iridescent effect paint on carbon. In the studio photo the crown and the area behind the eye port show a deep, almost navy weave under clear coat. Large, angular letter shapes on the flank flip back and forth between green, purple and cool silver depending on the light. On the spoiler the effect becomes even more intense and tips into violet-blue. The chin area and lower edge stay dark, and the Nexx logo runs as a thin light line above the visor pivot. In the photo the helmet wears a green-blue rainbow mirror visor – that shows the look Nexx has in mind.
How to keep the effect beautiful
- Clean the gloss surface with a soft cloth and a plastic-friendly cleaner
- No abrasive polish on the colour surfaces
- Always carry it in the padded bag for transport
- Deep blemishes can hardly be touched up invisibly, because no paint pen matches the colour shift
Four shells, clean proportions
Nexx builds the X.R5R in the shells XXS-S, M, L and XL-XXL. So M and L each get their own outer shell. A narrow head does not end up in an oversized shell with thick foam – that saves weight and avoids the mushroom look. Measured on the M shell, the carbon version weighs approx. 1,325 g ± 50 g.

Air and hold
Eight intakes and five exhausts plus ventilation via the chin and cheek pads keep the head cool, and the Air-Cumbs chamber distributes the air. Inside, the 360° Custom Fit works with interchangeable pads made of X-Mart Dry, glasses-compatible and washable. It is fastened with a double-D ring, on carbon with Peraluman rings, plus a magnetic X-Lock.
