How to Measure Your Helmet Size Correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible measuring tape.
It is important that the measuring tape runs at the widest point of the head – only then will you get an accurate result.
Place the measuring tape about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows at the front and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the measuring tape should run over the largest point at the back of the head (not too deep in the neck). The tape may run slightly diagonally – what matters is that it fits snugly around the largest circumference points of the head.
Make sure the measuring tape is snug but not cutting in. It’s best to measure 2–3 times to get the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimeters (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an Accurate Result
- Lay hair flat (e.g., do not measure with a voluminous hairstyle)
- Run the measuring tape horizontally or along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model/fit)
Important for Fit
The right helmet should fit snugly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a bit tighter at first, as the inner padding will adjust slightly over time.

Technically everything that defines the new Nexx racing helmet is on board – from the lockable visor and the adjustable spoiler to the action camera mount. Homologated to ECE 22.06.
The Plain White design
While most racing helmets make a loud entrance, this graphic relies on a single colour. The Nexx lettering is printed in light grey and almost disappears into the white from a few metres away. At the bottom edge of the shell sits a dark grey rubber trim, and in the product photo the visor and spoiler are tinted smoke grey. The result looks timeless and suits any bike colour.
Why white makes sense on the track
- reflects the sun – more comfortable in the paddock and on hot afternoons
- easier to spot in traffic than a black helmet
- free surface for your own stickers or your number
- on the downside, rubber marks, soot and insects show up quickly – a quick wipe after every ride is worth it
Weight and shell
The Plain models use the X-Matrix 2 shell, a multi-composite laminate made of several fibre layers. Nexx quotes approx. 1,475 g ± 50 g for it. The carbon graphics of the X.R5R come in around 150 g lighter, while the older X.R3R Speedcore at approx. 1,650 g is considerably heavier.

Visor and spoiler
Recoil visor with X-Race
At high speed a visor likes to lift slightly at the bottom. The X-Race Lock keeps it closed. Three intermediate positions let you open a crack in the pit lane.

Spoiler with extender
The extender slides in and makes the rear spoiler up to 20 mm longer. Behind a race screen this calms the helmet in the airflow; on more upright bikes the short setting is enough.

On the chin sits a camera mount that rotates through 360° and clicks into four positions. X-Hidro straps guide the tube of your hydration pack, and an intercom can be retrofitted.
Good to know: X.R3R parts do not fit, and an internal sun visor is missing. According to launch reports, all plastic parts are said to be available as spares.
